Thrangu Monastery in Richmond, BC, opened officially on July 25, 2010, to great fanfare. Many hundreds of people came out for the ceremony including Canadian senators, mayors, members of parliament and monks and nuns from all over the world. The building is a magnificent large monastery which will house monks and lamas to teach Buddhism, Tibetan and traditional art and lead pujas.
